So yea, global warming.
“Yea….global warming…yah yah… blah blah we’re gonna die…”
Hey. So listen real quick.
The End is inevitable. Yes Yes. But most of us probably dont think too much of the reality of global warming because we wont be around to be affected by it. So let’s take a small moment of our empty time to ‘think’ about what we will see in our lifetime. First off, lemme explain global warming in laymans terms:
Think of a pot with boiling water with no lid. As you turn the heat up, the temperature of the water will rise as well. At any temperature, the boiling water will eventually reach a certain ‘hot’ point and stay there. It can stay at a certain level because it finds a balance with the cool air around it… (the steam is the heat escaping, kind of).
Now imagine putting a lid on the pot now. Since the heat has nowhere to escape, it stays within the pot and the water becomes hotter, quicker.
The Earth is the pot of water. The Sun is the stove.
Enter Humans.
When WE, Me and You, pay no attention to how much electricity we really use, when we don’t recycle, or when we’re willing to deforest our lands for another Starbucks or a pair of Nike Dunks… we become the lid. We basically fuck up the Earth’s balance of cool and hot air and everything in between.
Mind you, this is an analogy and doesnt even begin to cover the real extremities… But, it covers the point.
Now. We are too selfish to care about each other, but now because of man’s destruction, in the year 2050, kids will have to learn about polar bears and a group of other species through books and movies like we learned about dinosaurs. The ice they live and hunt on are melting away because of our messed up climate… many of them are coming up dead from drowning and poverty. Humans are the polar bears’ sole predator.
Bottom line. People will do anything for money… They will wipe off a whole species for oil, they will dump shit into our waters to save a dime, they will keep feeding us bullshit because we are all dumb enough to follow. Eventually, we’ll be next on the endangered species list. Sure you dont give a fuck now, but I’m sure you will wish you did when you’re kid is born with 3 arms. *knocking on wood*
